5 Body Parts That You Are Not Cleaning Properly

Germs have a peculiar way of sneaking into our body parts and causing infections. Therefore, taking a regular bath is not enough to maintain a hygienic body. Some extra care has to be taken especially for certain body parts.

Here’s a list of 5 body parts that you need to clean correctly:  

1) Tongue
Improper oral health can lead to fungal infections, which can cause black hairy tongue. This is a term that is used to describe bacterial and fungal growth on the tongue, which makes the tongue look black. This condition causes nausea and bad breath. You should ensure that the tongue is cleaned while brushing. You can either gently brush your tongue regularly or use a tongue scraper.

Ear wax build up causes pain, itching, decreased hearing and drainage from the ear canal. Using pins, hairclips, ear buds to clean ear wax can cause more harm than good. Here is a simple step that you need to follow to clean your ears - 
  1. Use lukewarm mineral oil to loosen the wax in the ears.
  2. Then tilt your head to one side while bathing to allow the water to wash away the wax.
  3. Use a towel to gently remove the excess water.



3) In between toes 
Failing to clean the area between your toes leads to fungal infections. Those tiny spaces can become breeding grounds for bacteria and fungi. Daily washing the feet with soap and water and putting good quality foot powder can prevent this from happening.



4) Nail Cuticles
Nail cuticles are the part of the skin that grows over your nails. In case they are cut, it leaves open a wide area for the germs to attack your body. Not maintaining these can lead to paronychia - a condition that causes red spots around the cuticles. Wearing gloves while washing utensils or clothes can protect the cuticles. 


5) Back
Acnes can easily develop on the back if not cleaned properly. Therefore, cleaning your backs regularly with soap and water is essential. Using a back brush can help to clean the back thoroughly. This also helps in removing dead skin cells and provides an even tone to your body.
